Moses Carbon Graphite USA Starhawk 5- and 6-string Basses:
Handsome, beautiful sounding and wonderfully balanced Moses Starhawk basses have many individually designed and unique features. All are a part of basses finished with expert workmanship, and a supreme set-up. They offer the warm, focused and powerful, tight, and sustainful growl that Moses necks are well-know for.
The basses feature premiere one- or two-piece deep relief carve-top Starhawk bodies. The bodies have a totally smooth and durable, meticulously hand rubbed gun stock oil finish.
The Starhawk 5 neck is Moses Carbon Graphite USA model MZC-155; a 24 fret, 35” scale, 16” radius, deep-set heel neck with 17mm spacing at bridge, a nut width of 1.81” and 24th fret width of 2.87”. The neck is thin, fast, stable and durable. The Starhawk 6 neck is Moses Carbon Graphite USA model MJZ-156; a 24 fret, 35” scale, 16” radius neck with 17mm spacing at bridge, a nut width of 2.0625″ and a 24th fret width of 3.375″. All Starhawk basses can be made as headless instruments. The Starhawk 5 may be made with a 33 1/2″/36″ Slanted Fret MZC-5 neck.
Electronics include:
Bartolini active 5- or 6-String string jazz bass pickups. Alternately we utilize Bartolini Soapbar pickups, or can incorporate any other pickup style that you may request.
These are complimented with Bartolini active 9 volt electronics, with master volume, stacked treble/bass, and pickup blend potentiometers.
Alternately we prefer EMG active 18 volt and Aguilar systems.
Hardware includes:
Hipshot Ultralite tuning machines, bridge and Straplocks.
For the headless variant, we incorporate ABM mono-rail bridge tuners.
The basses are usually strung with flat wound stainless steel D’Addario strings.
Starhawk basses weigh a moderate 8.5 lbs./3.86 Kg. to 10.0 lb./4.55 Kg. This is dependent on the wood chosen and the 5- or 6-string model made.
These basses are usually sold and shipped with new SKB hard shell cases.
Pricing generally vary from $2,800 to $3,600 USD, dependent on each bass’ definitive specifications.
